A baluster form vase with very comparable decoration is illustrated in the guide to the "Museum fur Lackkunst" number 30. This sort of Japanese shape chinoiserie pottery is often associated with the two great German lacquer workers Gerard Dagly and his pupil Martin Schnell. It is recorded that Schnell worked for Meissen but nothing like this pottery has been noted.
