A rare Deccanese late 17th century undecorated Bidriware hookah base.

Height

When describing Bidriware one would expect to see silver or ‘white metal’ inlay onto a black ground, however in this instance the vase has been patinated in preparation for the inlay but left plain. It is a cast white brass coated in copper sulphate.
